The Rosmini College Physics Department Hangi took place on Friday, 26th February on one of the College’s lower fields.  The Year 11 Physics students have the Hangi as part of one of their Internal Assessments. Rosmini College’s Year 11 and 12 Hospitality and Catering students began preparing the food for the Hangi on Thursday in the Food Technology Room.

On Wednesday, 2nd March, Rosmini College’s Year 11 – 13 Japanese students, along with a lucky few Year 10 Japanese students, travelled to the Auckland War Memorial Museum for a Maiko performance.

Rosmini College has a close working relationship with the Resource Teachers: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB). 

Resource Teachers: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) are funded to work with schools, teachers, and Years 1-10 students with learning and behaviour difficulties. They have a particular focus on supporting M?ori and Pasifika students and children and young people moving into State care. RTLB support and up-skill teachers to better meet the needs of students within an inclusive education system.

Year 7 Beach Day was held on Tuesday, 1st March at Long Bay Beach. The Year 7 students enjoyed this very successful day with their new Form Teachers and their Year 13 Peer Supporters. The Year 13 students ran the activities which allowed the new Year 7s to get to know each other. The activities were a nature walk, water relay, sand castle competition, surf lifesaving relay and a trust walk.

At the end of last year Rosmini College’s two Year 9 Japanese classes went out to lunch at the local Japanese restaurant, Musashi. One class went on Tuesday, 1st December and the other class went on Wednesday, 2nd December. Rosmini College’s HOD of Japanese, Mrs Kuniko Crosby says the students had to greet the waitresses and express their opinions about their lunch in Japanese. Mrs Crosby continues, “There was a variety of Japanese food that students could choose from and they all used their chopsticks well.”
