All students

Instrument lessons and music groups will start from next week (09/02/15). All students who have applied need to check their timetable on the Music dpt board.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Music is a compulsory subject in Year 7 and 8, and optional from Year 9-13. Students wishing to take music as an option from Year 9 onwards should be learning or starting to receive tuition on their chosen performance instrument to increase the likelihood of Merit or Excellence credits at NCEA level.

We encourage students from Year 7-13 to learn an instrument within our extensive music programme.

Note: This itinerant programme is offered to the students who take Music as a subject (including co-curricular activities).

Music Groups will meet as follows:

  • Combo band for Years 10-13: Monday at senior lunch
  • Senior Big band: Tuesday and Thursday at senior lunch time
  • Junior Band: Wed. at senior lunch 12:50-1:30
  • Concert Band: Thursday 8:00-8:50am (Auditorium)
  • Rosmini Choir: Wednesday 8:00-8:50am (Auditorium)
  • Drumline: Tuesday 8:00-8:50am (Auditorium)
  • Saxophone Ensemble: Friday 8:30 am

If you are interested in joining to the music groups, come to see Dr Wang.
