Rosmini College Careers Hub
Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate
What does the Careers Hub offer?

All students can book a careers appointment to discuss potential ideas and plans for the future, either by visiting the Careers Hub in CAT1 or via the careers website. Parents or caregivers are most welcome to attend these appointments if they wish.

All Year 13 students are encouraged to seek advice early, and Mr Latch will attempt to see each and every Year 13 student in their final year.

Also available:

  • Visits to explore different pathways with organisations such as MITO and NZDF plus local Automotive, Trade and Engineering firms.

  • Work experience placements to gain an insight into specific roles.

  • Advice on job hunting and CV writing.

  • University presentations are regularly held in CAT1 including NZ tertiary institutions as well as visits from Australia and other international providers.

  • Assistance with completion of course enrolments, accommodation and scholarship applications.

Career Central

In addition to the information-packed Rosmini careers website, the team utilises a careers tool called Career Central. Students are able to do career research and planning, quizzes to help them narrow down what they will do when they leave school, write a CV and cover letter and much more.

Tahatu Career Navigator

Students can also use the newly launched website - Tahatu Career Navigator (this replaces careers.govt.nz) run by the TEC - Tertiary Education Commission. This website is great for exploring over 800 career ideas, and browsing 4000+ qualifications and courses, plus how to plan for your future.

Gateway

Gateway is a subject choice for Year 12 and 13 students. The Gateway programme aims to strengthen pathways for students from school to the workplace or tertiary study by offering them real-world experience and skills development. Students participate in structured workplace learning, which can include work placements, internships, or other forms of practical experience. The credits achieved in a workplace setting count towards students' National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA).

Gateway provides students with the opportunity to:

  • Gain real-world experience and skills

  • Test drive their career choices

  • Create relationships with industry professionals

  • Gain confidence and enthusiasm for their education

  • Learn industry-based skills

  • Gain extra credits

For more information see Mr Latch in the Careers Hub.
