Tom Gerrard Memorial Celebration
On Saturday 15 October a Memorial Mass followed by drinks and dinner was held at the Auditorium in memory of Tom Gerrard.
Tom Gerrard was Headmaster of Rosmini College from 1975 to 2014. Tom sadly passed away in August 2020 during lockdown, and only 10 people were permitted at his funeral.
A suitable public memorial had been hoped for some time but the inability of his three daughters and grandchildren to travel from Australia due to Covid travel restrictions delayed the event.
Therefore, it was wonderful to see 220 people present for the event on 15 October. The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Aidan Cunningham, one of the original Rosminian priests and a colleague of Tom’s when they were both on the staff between 1966 and 1970.
The dinner had a number of speeches by old boys reminiscing about Tom during his many long years at Rosmini. Master of Ceremonies was Matt Casey. Everyone seemed to feel it was a fabulous event and it was enjoyed by all.
