Rosmini 1st XI claim Alex Harvey trophy for first time

Congratulations to the Rosmini 1st XI who became history makers after beating Westlake 3-1 in the North Shore Derby!

This was the first competitive league fixture between the two rivals in many decades, after Rosmini was promted to the premiership league in 2022 after a 30-year absence.

Rosmini took a surprise lead thanks to an instinctive finish in the box by Mateo Roa. Westlake came out firing in the second half to equalise early. Rosmini's resolute defence was more than up to the task, successfully fending off several attacks. However, fortune was on Rosmini's side, who were awarded a penalty kick, which was coolly slotted home by Brendan Acfield. Talisman Acfield proved to be the difference, capitalising on a break away to score past the keeper again.

Acfield's 6th league goal of the season sealed a famous win for the Saints - which sparked a mass pitch invasion by the jubilant Rosmini fans.

Not only does the victory ensure Rosmini 3 points and local bragging rights; but the team also clinched the prestigious Alex Harvey Trophy for the very first time!
