Rosmini Chefs for Compassion
Rosmini College Chefs for Compassion participants voted to host a family nominated by Child Cancer Foundation. Their invited a family, together with supporters, to be their guests for a very special event to honour their courage and strength as a family. This family had said farewell to their darling boy in January this year, an 18-year-old who contracted leukemia in 2018.
After three weeks of planning they came together at Rosmini College on 17 June to rejoice and celebrate their courage and strength in making it through this extremely emotionally challenging time together.
Sixteen guests were treated to a four-course a la carte menu, with nothing but the best, including the crayfish seafood platter.
Our wonderful chefs gave caring and confident speeches throughout the evening, and finally, honoured the mother with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and our Family Courage Award.
Moved to tears, our guest mum said her son would have loved the evening, and the chance for all the extended family to be back once again was special. With busy lives, this was the first time they'd had the chance to come back together since the funeral in January.
They were honoured, as we were too. They were moved to tears, as we were too. We connected together in a very special, unique way.
Rosmini Chefs for Compassion, you did everyone proud. What a restaurant you created and decorated. It was stunning. What an atmosphere of compassion and love. After 92 Chefs for Compassion banquet events, we may have witnessed one of the most heartfelt and moving occasions. Well done.
