Double Gold Finish for Rosmini Junior B Water Polo
Our Junior B team scored big last Thursday night winning their Gold Final against a very feisty TAP 8 White team (that also featured Rosmini Intermediate A team players).
Our pool match against TAP 8 White was close fought with our boys just winning by 1 goal, and last Thursday night was very similar again with our boys being tested by TAP 8 White right up until Q4 where they managed to break the deadlock and take a 5-4 win. It was an awesome effort by the team in what was an epic match up and great nail biter of a final.
And to top off an enormous term 4 of water polo (for some of the boys, playing up to 4 games a week), our Junior B team had their final match in the Auckland College Sport League against Whangaparāoa yesterday who were top of the table going into this final match. Our first encounter with Whangaparāoa at the beginning of term 2 saw our boys fall short 4-10. However, the team were able to reverse that result and come away with a 3-1 win, in what was another gritty hard fought match where the boys were up against very strong opposition. A mammoth defensive effort by all the team, but a special mention goes to our goalie, Thomas Markovina, who made several amazing saves keeping our opposition to just 1 goal. This win placed the team top of the table in the Junior Boys B/Mixed North West grade of the Auckland College Sport League to finish off their season on a high!
Thanks again to our wonderful coaches George Parker and Rosmini Old Boy Ethan D’Souza for all their time and their leadership throughout the year which has helped steer the team to their success in 2023. Also a big thanks to our awesome manager Liz Markovina.
