Water Polo North Island tournament
The Premier Water Polo and Senior A teams played in their respective divisions at the North Island tournament during summer tournament week.
Tough matches were played and allowed the teams to keep building towards their Div. 1 and 2 Nationals in April.
The Senior A team, coached by old boys Zachariah Stewart and Ethan D’Souza, did a great job securing 10th place in what was a tough competition. They had their first wins of the season after moving into a much more challenging Auckland league.
Selwyn College 2-5 loss
Whangaparoa College 9-9 draw
Hamilton Boys A 4-9 loss
Northcote College 9-1 win
Te Arawa College 10-5 win
Whangaparoa 5-7 loss for 10th place
The Premier team, coached by Will Catlin (old boy) and Lachie Griffiths, had a strong showing at North Islands with games against eventual winners Tauranga Boys College (7-14), Western Springs College (15-3 win), Rangitoto A (16-3 win), a loss to Hamilton Boys (2nd place getters) in the quarter final (7-13), win against AGS (9-4) in what was their best game of the tournament and tied for 5th equal against Rangitoto Premier 11-11. The team has a lot to play for at Nationals and for many students in this team it will be their last Rosmini tournament after playing together since Year 7. We wish both teams positive and successful tournaments.
