Basketball Nationals 2024
Congratulations to the Rosmini Premier basketball team for their third place at the Secondary School Nationals tournament.
Held during the school holidays and organised by Basketball Bew Zealand, this competitive tournament sees the top secondary school teams from the around the country compete for the national title.
Rosmini had a dream run through the pools phase, winning all of their games and growing in confidence:
98-93 vs Waimea College
95-56 vs Rangiora High School
86-41 vs Palmerston North High School
108-55 vs St John's College
82-50 vs Mount Roskill Grammar
The quarter final saw them play Fielding High School, winning 87-66, before going down in the semis to eventual silver medalist Napier Boys 57-72.
The playoff for third place against Wellington College resulted in an exciting 100-81 win, with top scorers Chris Wyllie 26, Jameer Reed 21, Hunter Johns 13, Josh Wyllie 13, Mattie Dalton 11 and Bart Jackowski 10. Special mention goes to Bart for being named in the tournament's All-Star Five!
The bronze at Nationals topped off a great season for the Premier team, which included a bronze at the 3 x 3 Nationals and silver in the Premier competition.
