Junior Touch Team battle the elements at Auckland Champs

Junior Touch Team battle the elements at Auckland Champs

On a blustery and wet Auckland day, Rosmini's Junior Touch team made up of top Year 9 & 10 players, competed in the Auckland Junior Touch Championships at Cox's Bay Reserve on Thursday 21 November.

With the wind hurtling off the water at Cox's Bay, channelling straight through the park, the conditions were at times challenging for our boys. Up against some of the traditionally strong central schools, Rosmini held their own and played some good Touch. Whilst Kings and St Peter's proved too strong in the early rounds, they had a tight match with Tamaki, coming out a draw. Third in their pool, they went into the Plate semi's where they were pipped by Botany, but took a good win against Howick in the final game of the day.

A good day out even with mixed results, a marquee that went flying, lots of wind and rain; but still a few patches of sun, and the boys enjoyed the experience. Touch, what a game!
