Junior Athletics Day 2024
Students were encouraged to give everything a go at the annual Junior Athletics Day, and it was great to see so many happy faces running, jumping, throwing and supporting each other.
Houses were allocated points for every participant and win, culminating in the much-anticipated tug of war!
Congratulations to Emery for their third year winning in a row!
Year 9-10 Results: Jayden Modigh repeated his 100 m win with a solid 11.47 sec, following that with 56.87 400 m. Joseph Larson won the 200, Ryder Pollock the 800 and Orlando Thomas Chang repeated on his 2023 win in the 1,500 m (4:57.1)
Year 8 Results: James Boyle had a fine day taking the 100 m (12.31), 200 m (24.31) and the shot put . Michael Gonzalez won the 400, Mason Rieper the 800 and Peter Fredotovich the 1,500 m. In the field Matt McMenamin won the discus and Rhylen Hughes won the long jump with a 4.90 leap.
Year 7 Results: Braxton Pulini showed speed in the 100 m (13.03) and long jump (4.62), but it was Josh Johansen who came through as the big winner of the day taking the 200, 400 (1:07.7), 800 m 2:35.8 and 1,500 m (5:04.1). Olie Dobson won the shot and Wyatt Hulena the discus.
