welcome to

“Mercy is the beating heart of the Gospel”.

Explanation: December 8th 2015 marked the beginning of a new liturgical year in our Catholic Church. Pope Francis proclaimed this the Holy Year of Mercy. He said in his proclamation that he wants the year to be a time for Catholics to contemplate just how merciful God has been to them and to understand better how they are called to be merciful to others in turn.

He tangata takahi manuhiri, he marae puehu
A person who mistreats his guest has a dusty Marae (Meeting house)

Someone who disregards his visitors will soon find he has no visitors at all. This accentuates the importance of hospitality with Maori society and culture.
